The $13.50 admission (children under 9 are free) doesn't just get you access to the pay-and-play machines. There are some educational parts, too. The permanent "History of Pinball" exhibit tells you about the 140-year-old game, from its start as bagatelle, an 18th-century precursor to the arcade game. Other displays look at pinball art and standout individual artists.
Curator David Silverman founded the museum as a home for his collection of more than 800 pinball machines. But the museum also has a theater, library and store that are all about the coin-operated game. Plus, it offers classes on how to make pinball machines from scratch, including woodworking and electronics.
