Five Cute Retro Gifts for Sentimental Travelers

We love our iPad, Kindle and other gadgets just as much as the next traveler, but there's something about old-school postcards, posters and the like that makes us nostalgic. If you have a sentimental traveler on your holiday to-buy list, or someone who digs retro swag, we found some items that will make 'em swoon.

Check out our gift guide for sentimental travelers, for Holiday 2010:

· New York Pencil Set
These brightly colored No. 2's take us back to our elementary school days. The pencils rep all of New York's boroughs and come in a muslin bag stamped with a city skyline. The $11 set is much more original than the "I heart NY" tee you planned on giving. Lest you West Coasters feel left out, there's also a Cali kit, whose pencils offer state trivia, like, "Coastline: 840 miles."

· Vintage Travel Stickers
Exotic stickers covering old luggage are like Foursquare badges that tell you where someone went and what she did back in the day. Your jet-setting loved one can pimp out his bag with distinctive markers like these three-inch vintage Japan Airlines, Milwaukee Road and Air France stickers, which are way cooler luggage tags. A sheet offers six stickers for $5.50, so you can steal some for yourself.

· Miami Beach Postcards
The fab traveler in your life will adore this vintage-looking letterpress postcard that reads, "Greetings from Miami Beach, Just Fabulous." At only $2.50 apiece, it's a wallet-friendly stocking stuffer; or order a bunch so your pal can take them on her travels and write to you from poolside at the Delano.

· Chicago Vacation City Print
Back in 1925, a series of advertisements came out to lure vacationers to travel on the Illinois Central Railroad. They portrayed the Windy City as a hot spot for shopping and, in this case, sunning. It makes us crave the shores of Lake Michigan. This matted and framed print costs $29.95.

· Springtime in St. Louis Poster
The idyllic scene in this poster of St. Louis' Great Basin will make you yearn to paddle the day away in the city's Forest Park. The park's famous for hosting the 1904 World's Fair that's name-checked in the titular song from the Judy Garland musical Meet Me in St. Louis. The city may not be an exotic port of call, but the $25 poster makes it look like one.
