The movie was filmed in Moab, Utah, not far from where Aron was actually trapped. The Moab Adventure Center offers a variety of ways to safely see the gorgeous red rocks and deserts of Moab, including Hummer tours, guided hikes, bike rides or from above on a scenic flight or hot air balloon. They also provide multi-day rafting and canyoneering trips with professional guides.
One of the most popular hiking tours is the Arches Fiery Furnace Hike through the Arches National Park. A professional trail guide leads a daily trek through maze-like passages and past monolithic towers, spires and arches. The five-hour tour costs $77 per person.
If roughing it in the canyon isn't your style, you can book a room at the Sorrel River Ranch Resort and Spa where you can still gaze at the beauty of the surrounding cliffs, from the comfort of your four-star suite. The resort has everything you need to relax, like a gourmet restaurant, a full-service health spa, and a riverside swimming pool. Rates start at $339 a night.
