EasyJet Now Asking if You'd Like Some Trip Insurance with That In-Flight Soda

Nothing reminds you that you're flying on a low-cost carrier more than encountering extra charges throughout the flight—soda, Pringles chips, pillows...you name it, it has a price tag. Oh wait, that's most airlines these days, anyways! Well, there is one new extra in-flight fee we totally support, and we're shocked to hear it coming from easyJet first: trip insurance.

You can now buy your trip insurance while already flying to your destination onboard EasyJet. That may be as last-minute as it gets, but at least the option exists, just in case you were too busy before finally taking off on your vacay to bother with it. Easyjet says it's offering this service because "it found that one in five holidaymakers from the UK were jetting off uninsured."

The plans are pretty reasonable too, starting as low as 15 GBP for peace of mind. Insurance Daily has the rest of the dirt on what to expect from these in-flight policies:

Passengers in-flight can choose from a five-day or 14-day adult single trip European policy, which covers medical emergencies, loss of baggage and passport, personal accident and personal liability, with prices starting from £15.00 per person.

Customers are then presented with a pack, which includes the policy wording and other important information such as medical assistance and claims telephone numbers.

We aren't the most cautious travelers since we rarely if ever opt for travel insurance, but when you're talking about Europe with its labor strikes and other fun problems, this could be one of the greatest little ideas Easyjet's had in a long time.
