50 Cent's Guide To Enjoying Grand Rapids, Michigan

Grand Rapids, MI has a new, unlikely, fan. 50 Cent is currently in Grand Rapids to film Gun and he has nothing but love for the city. The rapper/writer/producer/businessman says he prefers the small town vibe of Grand Rapids as opposed to working in NYC where everyone wants a piece of him.

"I was comfortable and able to focus on the actual project because of that. New York city is rough because so many people are conscious of everything that I do,” he said. “I’m in a scene and they want me to sign a piece a paper or take a picture in the middle of the scene. It’s like, ‘I can’t!’ And they don’t understand that.”

And 50 will definitely need to focus while making Gun since he has a lot riding on the project. He is not only starring in the movie, along with 90210's Annalynne McCord and Val Kilmer, but he also co-wrote and is producing the indie film. He recently explained that the movie isn't just fluff either, the plot features themes about the gun industry and the economy.

Filming began last week at Cocktailz Bar & Grill, 1001 Chicago Drive SW, Grand Rapids. More than 11 other locations around the city are already lined-up to also be featured in the movie and they are even planning to premiere the movie in Grand Rapids next fall before it is released in theaters.
