There's going to be a lot of talk about full-body scanners in 2010, we can tell. So in an effort to help you understand what airports will have them, what happens when you use them, and your rights, we're dedicating this week to explaining it all in Full-Body Scanners 101.

Whatever your position on full-body scanners, if you're going to do some heavy traveling during 2010, there's always the chance that you might be faced with having to virtually strip down for one. We'll get into how it works and your rights with full-body scanners later this week, but for now let's focus on where exactly these big bad boys hang out...

What airports have full-body scanners in use?:

According to the Washington Post, there are only forty units at 19 airports currently. Although London and Nigerian airports have theirs on order, they aren't delivered yet, so you'll not have to worry about them yet.

But coming through SFO this past weekend I saw a full body scanner, asked why it wasn't in use and the friendly TSA folks said "it is broken..."

That's strange, you would think they would be the first to get 'em!

Yea notice how a lot of the smaller airport have them...none in the NYC area yet, but Newark just ordered some.

The lady in the picture is wearing one black sock and one white - is this a scanner side-effect no one is telling us about?

Critics could call this Sexual Harassment! Few people are exhibitionists. Pornography Laws should also protect adults. Do we want Terrorists sending children, like the wolf in sheep's clothing, to carry the weapons on board aircraft? There are other methods for detecting criminals, like distress calls to 9-1-1.
