The foodie tour kicks off with a shopping trip to a local market with Yan to pick up fresh ingredients for a hands-on cooking class at the Chinese Cuisine Training Institute of Hong Kong. After all, as the TV show said, if Yan can cook, so can you. Another highlight of the non-stop tour is a full-day visit to Lantau Island with Yan. You'll get to check out the world's largest outdoor bronze Buddha statue, the Tian Tan, and then feast on a vegetarian banquet, designed by Yan and prepared by the monks at Po Lin Monastery.
The trip ends with a farewell to Yan at Crown Wine Cellars, a top-notch wine facility and a UNESCO Asia Pacific Heritage site. There you can peek at some of the underground cellars and learn about wine and its pairings with world cuisine.
To give you an extra incentive to do the crash-course cooking trip, the first 50 to sign up receive an autographed copy of Yan's cookbook, a kitchen knife and chopsticks. After studying with Yan and getting these kitchen tools, you sadly won't have a reason to order Chinese takeout anymore.
