NYC Streets Clogged Up With The Filming Of 'Sex And The City 2'

Filming for Sex and the City 2 is officially underway in New York City, and the shoots have been causing the expected chaos all over the city. On the first day of shooting, near 84th Street and Park Ave, one onlooker told the NY Daily News that security was tight thanks to hordes of fans watching from the sidelines. The witness added, "They looked more like they were protecting the President than Sarah Jessica Parker."

On Wednesday, SJP and Chris Noth, aka Mr. Big, filmed a scene at Hogan and Hartson’s at 875 Third Ave. The law firm was transformed into Big's on-screen office for the movie, and thankfully this inside location kept the crowds thin.

Thursday, the ladies moved to the Renaissance New York Hotel Times Square. Despite the fact that it has fugly carpeting and the restaurant's food is a "an uneven mash of inspiration and clumsiness", the hotel does have several good package deals right now, like their "Escape Gotham Getaway Package in New York City" with rates starting at $279.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon then wrapped up the first week of filming just a couple blocks away from SJP's real-life West Village brownstone. The ladies walked down the street in deep conversation for the scene, no doubt discussing their Labor Day plans.

Today, Carrie and company continue filming in midtown Manhattan around 58th Street between 6th Ave and 7th Ave. Just watch for the police barricades.
