While Australia hails the arrival of spring, Wisconsin is meanwhile fully embracing fall with a festival to celebrate one of the season's yummiest arrivals: cranberries. The Cranberry Festival last through the weekend in Warrens, and it features marsh tours and over three miles of vendors. All details are here.

· Lawrenceburg, KY:
For all you foodies who are open to trying everything from deep-fried alligator to Hawaiian poi, we recommend hightailing it down to Kentucky for a steaming bowl of the burgoo. What is "burgoo," you ask? Oh, just a mish-mash of meats and chili-type sauce that doesn't quite qualify as child, but does get its own Burgoo Festival. All details are here.

Looking for a weekend full of more "cultured" events than eating burgoo and frolicing through Canberra's flowers? If you're in the vicinity of southern England, Bath is hosting the Jane Austen Festival, and this happens to be the final weekend.
