The event will have some new features this year. There will be gourmet pavilions on the Great Lawn, where multiple chefs and restaurants will offer tastings of a variety of cuisines, including Asian, French, Seafood, Latin, gastropub, Mediterranean and regional American. Of course, dessert and cheese stations will also be available. Also new this year is the Organic Gourmet Tent, which will offer Southern Wine and Spirit’s organic wines and the Green City Market, the city's only year-round farmers’ market promoting local, sustainable farmers and producers.
Returning from last year is the Grand Cru, which allows attendees to sample wines selected by master sommeliers. During these exclusive 90-minute events, the master sommeliers will be on hand to present and discuss their selections. The Grand Cru is a separate ticketed event at $175 and requires a general admission ticket as well. Attendance is limited to 200 per day.
If all of this makes you lick your chops, you can buy a one-day ticket for $150 or a two-day pass for $250. The more frugal foodies can take advantage of Chicago Gourmet's Dine Around program, where guests get a free one-day ticket to the event by purchasing five meals during through Sept. 27 at any participating restaurant.
