Virgin America's 'Fly Girls' Sign Up for a Reality Show

Farrah was a flight attendant on Virgin America's first-ever flight. No word on whether she will be the next LC, Heidi or Lo.

Will an upcoming reality show be a sexy look at the lives of flight attendants in the air and on the ground, taking us back to the golden days of flying when pilots and their stewardesses were invited to all the hotspots upon landing on the runway?

Or will it just be a disastrous trainwreck with mostly fictional storylines that does a huge disservice to flight attendants in America? We sincerely hope its the former but there's always a risk when reality shows profiling a profession get slapped together.

Nonetheless, Virgin America announced yesterday that a new reality show from the CW (home of Gossip Girl) will feature five "beautiful Virgin America flight attendants" as they jet around America.

From their shared home-base “crash pad” in Los Angeles, California, the young women will deal with work lives that include split-second decision-making, demanding and sometimes fascinating passengers, long hours in the air and layovers in interesting locales. Their personal lives are filled with romance, family, friendships and more than a few roommate conflicts.

Oooh...interactions with passengers! That could mean us! Or Ryan Ross from the now-defunct band Panic at the Disco who sat next to us on our flight the other night. Or McHammer. Or Bradley Cooper. Or the boys from Entourage. Or Richard Branson?

Interestingly, the show promises to follow the fly girls around from LA to New York and...South Beach. But Virgin America doesn't fly out of Miami. Or will it? What better way to promote a new route than by launching a reality show around it? That's so Virgin!

The show is expected to air sometime in 2010. We fully expect heavy cross-promotion on RED's in-flight TV show offerings.

Would you sign a waiver to have a reality crew film you in-flight interacting with the Virgin America Fly Girls? Let us know in comments below.

yes

Yes I'd sign a waiver to appear. I'd rather be a "fascinating passenger" than that party pooper passenger. Also, an excuse to order lots of stuff from the in-flight menu so that the flight attendant gets all harried and there's overworked drama!
