The National Baseball Hall of Fame is holding their annual Baseball Film Festival on Oct. 2-4 at the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. The festival will feature 13 baseball-themed movies including The Lost Son of Havana about Major League Baseball star Luis Tiant's return to Cuba and She's Baseball Mad!, a look at the role women played in building Seattle's family-friendly ballpark.

Tickets for each screening are free, and can be reserved in advance. Members can reserve their tickets now and any remaining seats will made available to the general public on Monday, Sept. 28. For more information call the Membership Department at 607-547-0397 and be sure to check our suggestions below for getting the most out of your weekend in Cooperstown.

Where to stay and eat and what to do while in Cooperstown:

Where to Stay:
The Inn at Cooperstown has been rated one of America's Best Inns and was recently called "unpretentious" and "spotless" by Conde Nast Traveler. The inn, which has been working on some renovations, recently opened a new luxury suite that would make Brangelina swoon. It features a flat screen TV, fireplace, master bath, Wi-Fi and a wet bar on the first floor. There is also a second level with a second full bath, bedroom and sitting area. But wait, it gets better, rates for the suite start as low as $263 a night!

Where to Eat:
Danny's Main Street Deli, 92 Main St # 1, makes sandwiches to order on fresh, specialty breads using ingredients like smoked Gouda, marinated red peppers and homemade mozzarella, all for around $8. On a crisp fall day there is nothing better than getting one of Danny's sandwiches to go and eating it on a blanket or a bench in Lake Front Park on Lake Otsego. To get to the park, walk two blocks down Pioneer St from Main St or drive down, parking is free on the street in any of the surrounding residential neighborhoods.

What to Do:
The Fly Creek Cider Mill in Otsego, just outside of Cooperstown is a must-do fall activity for locals. Fly Creek offers over 40 specialty foods to taste, a restaurant that serves the most delicious homemade caramel apple pie on the planet, hourly tours of their working cider mill and a large duck pond with observation deck where you can have a cup of hot cider or a cider float depending on the weather. The cider mill is open daily from 9:00 am to 6 pm through December.
