September 14, 2009 at 12:23 PM | by | Comment (1)

Jay Leno's back tonight with his new, much hyped, 10 pm show on NBC. The Jay Leno Show will have some of the Jayisms we're accustomed to, like a short monologue, jaywalking and a big name guest. But it will also have a few new twist,s like a new crop of correspondents and a new desk-less set.

It's easy to get free tickets to Jay's new show, but you do have to plan ahead. Tickets can be ordered directly through NBC by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope with a brief letter listing the desired date of taping and three alternate dates at least 6 weeks in advance. If tickets are available for any of your requested dates, they will be sent out 2-3 weeks prior to the show.

There is a limit of four tickets per person and you must be at least 16 years old to attend the taping. Tickets for a specific show are available the day of the show on a first come, first serve basis at the NBC Ticket Box, located at NBC in Burbank, CA, which is also where Jay Leno tapes his show.

Last minute tickets to The Jay Leno Show are also available through TVTix.com. After filling out a request form on their website, TVTix will email you back within a half hour, and, if tickets are available for the date you have requested, you will be able to confirm your reservation and print the tickets right from their website. You will need to call their hotline the night before the show to confirm your reservation but other than that, you're good to go.

Worth it

I think it's definitely worth it if you can get a ticket! A few years ago I went to a live taping of the Jay Leno Show when the guests were Simon Cowell, Lisa Lampinelli, and Goldfrapp. It was very funny and lots of fun to see Jay and all the celebs in person. It was a huge pain waiting in the lobby for so long (even with tickets), having to walk a long way in the hot sun from the waiting room to the actual studio, following all the cues, and so on, but definitely worth the hassle!
