In-Flight Service Includes A Diaper Kit On Cathay Pacific

September 14, 2009 at 10:23 AM | by JetSetCD | 0 Comments

Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific has a great reputation for a few reasons: an amazing Studio CX in-flight entertainment system, flight attendants who keep their cool even on a 15-hour direct flight from JFK to HKG, and free in-flight all-you-can-eat ramen noodles (as recently sampled by us). But little did we know that they'll also give you a free diaper kit if you're traveling with an infant.

The news comes via Cathay's Twitter, and we did some digging to discover just how much of a bundle your bundle of joy will be receiving.

To get the in-flight diaper kit after you board your Cathay flight, you can request one on the "Manage My Booking" page. Back in early August, a question on Yelp about best flights to the Philippines with an infant was answered by someone suggest Cathay and noting that "they have baby bassinets for infants, and provide infant kits complete with a diaper, Mustela baby cream, etc."

And if some info from 2003 is still good, then a commenter on the Berkeley Parents Network page points out that their children got all the goodies:

Our 5-year-old got a backpack full of entertaining books, crayons, etc. For the baby we got a kit of diapers and wipes and lotions etc., and enough babyfood & juices to last us a month!

That's so not fair; we want a backpack full of entertaining books for our 15 hour flight! Also, juices to last a month would be nice. Nontheless, this is indispensable information for parents preparing to take their babies on a long-haul flight to or from Asia. We recommend filing this info away in the back of your mind, just in case.
