The story, and her accompanying blog, represents a handy how-to guide for aspiring circumnavigators. For one thing, Haggerty and her husband traveled only with carry-on bags, limiting their wardrobe options, but they were able to buy pretty much anything they needed along the way. (I must note, however, that my own better half wouldn't be caught dead in anything called "adventure pants," no matter how lightweight and practical, but that's just her.) She also advised, sagely, to print out every shred of travel documentation and keep it in a folder, something that came in handy in the New Delhi airport with a guard who had never heard of e-tickets. And finally, she sang the praises of travel insurance, which covered an extra day in Delhi when their flight was canceled.
I've never done an around-the-world journey before, but if I ever do, I'll refer to this guide by a couple of travelers who really seem to know what they're doing.
