Organizers claim they maintain a 98 percent success rate on these types of hunts, so if this is your thing you should be good to go. For those who prefer feathered friends, turkey and pheasant hunts are open during different times of the year. Gobblers are only available in the spring, so bringing a fresh one home for Thanksgiving isn’t an option.
You need to really like hunting, because these trips aren’t cheap. Hunters will receive transportation at the range, snacks and beverages, and of course a gun and ammo. Pricing depends on what you want to hunt, but if you’re looking to get a wild boar—sorry Pumbaa—it’ll set you back $800. If you just want to go along for the journey, ride alongs are available for just $50 per person. Just remember that you need to get a preserve hunting license as well, and that’s at least another $50.
