Will the Cast of Gossip Girl Only Like Hilary Duff For Her NYU Discounts?

While the real kids of the NYC prep school scene are still enjoying their last few weeks of vacation in the Hamptons or Saint-Tropez, the cast of Gossip Girl is back filming on the Upper East Side and this season they will be joined by Hilary Duff.

The Duffster was on set yesterday, preparing for her role which according to Celebrity-Gossip.net is that of a movie star who enrolls in classes at NYU in hopes of getting a typical college experience. Hmm...can you say Olsen twins. Duff's character will also take an interest in Dan Humphrey.

Meanwhile, the real new class of NYU students will arrive in just a few weeks and the Student Resource Center is dedicated to helping them adjust to being on their own in the big city. However, if you're visiting an NYU student this fall you might want to see what kind of tourist hook-ups they can get you.

For instance on Sept. 3rd, NYU is offering students a historic tour of the West Village, led by Manhattan historian Joyce Gold which takes the group through classic 19th century townhouses, old literary hangouts and Off-Broadway theaters on the way to the new waterfront park. The tour is not open to the public and only an NYU student can RSVP. But you could totally tag along right?

NYU students also have access to discounted theater tickets and other sightseeing and cultural deals along with restaurant discounts so it's not a bad idea to hit them up when you're in town. Not that we're suggesting you use these students for their city perks but you know, it could come in handy.

Ohmygod, now we totally get why Dan might be into Hilary Duff's character.
