Goldstein had battled drug addiction in his twenties, a disease he frequently discussed, but was thought to have been clean for nearly a decade. He even had plans to star in an upcoming reality show that staged family interventions for drug abusers. The crack pipe and prescription drugs allegedly found near his body, however, suggest he had a serious relapse. More than a few voices on the blogosphere are suggesting that survivors guilt about the plane crash may have been a factor, but that's all but impossible to prove, and beside the point. The music world lost a unique artist, and the clubs in New York and LA will be paying tribute tonight with his signature sounds.
