Travel lovers will want to check out October 2nd's "Cities, Bicycles and the Future of Getting Around" (featuring singer David Byrne) and October 29th's restaurant critic face-off.

· Hail to the (reading) chief: President Obama's on vacation this week in Martha's Vineyard and book lovers everywhere have been jumping to critique his reading list. His titles take place everywhere from New York City's Lower East Side (Richard Price's LUSH LIFE) to small-town Colorado, so no one can accuse him of mentally staying in the Beltway. But at 2,300 pages, Obama's got one heck of a heavy carry-on—someone give the man an e-book reader!
