'Runway Fashion' Means Something Totally Different To Gatwick Airport

Where: Gatwick Airport, London, United Kingdom

We love photoshopping sunglasses onto an airplane just as much as the next travel dork, but really—the above ad campaign from London-Gatwick Airport is taking it a bit too far.

Looking to promote Gatwick as a shopping destination, and not just for last-minute trashy paperback books or inflatable neck pillows, the airport placed this faux fashion spread into a British LGBT magazine, Attitude, and—we guess—hopes that the gay population og southern England comes running to buy chains and leather boots duty-free.

Although we give them props for finding a creative way to advertise an airport, the ad reminds us of dressing up pets. Like a poodle sporting a leather biker vest and cap, we kind of pity these airplanes, even if they aren't real. And that bag totally fit underneath the seat in front of you. What do you think of the ads? Do you ever do serious shopping at airport shops? Let us know in the comments!
