· Virgin American ups their checked bag fee to $20 from $15 TODAY
We still advocate carrying on completely whenever possible, because then stuff like this happens. Today Virgin America has raised their first checked bag fee from $15 to $20 and their second checked bag fee comes down from $25 to a straight $20. Therefore, any bag you check with VA (unless it's like your 11th bag) will be $20.
· Flight crew of that stranded Continental jet found not to be at fault
The story of the Continental ExpressJet that sat on the tarmac overnight, full of 47 hot, hungry and cranky passengers will surely stick in our minds for a while. Today it was released that the flight crew of the plane actually did their job better than expected, considering the conditions, and in fact pleaded to allow the passengers to go into the terminal for the night. As we all know, this did not come to be, and now Continental is blaming affiliate Mesaba Avaiation.
