It's Never Too Early To Lock In Your Super Bowl Vacation

August 21, 2009 at 2:09 PM | by Omri | 0 Comments

With the football season getting underway, hopeful fans are already starting to think about Super Bowl XLIV. The big game will be played in Miami's Dolphins Stadium on February 7, 2010, and sports nuts are already maneuvering to grab tickets and accommodations for the weekend.

Pittsburgh-based travel company Sports Vacations specializes in taking the headache out of creating Super Bowl packages, offering a variety of options that range from the mildly exorbitant to the mind-blowingly decadent.

During the season, Sports Vacations focuses on what the company was originally founded for: arranging packages for Steelers fans as they follow the black and gold around the country. Those packages start with tickets and hotel rooms which the company provides more or less at cost. Then other perks get thrown in depending on the package and the specific game: tailgate parties, fan rallies with local ex-Steelers, autograph and photo sessions, and a bevy of other extras.

After the regular season wraps up, the company turns its attention to its Super Bowl packages, managing fully insured vacations that fans can lock in early in the season.

This year's offerings begin with four nights in Miami, whatever seats you choose, and either transportation or a parking pass to the stadium. Then there are additional options involving pre-game receptions, opportunities to meet NFL players, and various events. The entire package can be insured up to 100% if your team fails to make it. Which you know they will.

The most basic combination—one person, a single occupancy room, and an upper level endzone ticket—clocks in at $4,700. Things get even pricier once you begin to add friends and customize the addons. If you attended Super Bowl XLII, Sports Vacations could have put you and seven friends in a corporate box at the 45-yard line and provided five-star accommodations. Total cost: $175,000. If your group needs a seventh this year, we'd be happy to tag along.
