San Diego Thinks They're So Hot They Need A Water Boutique

It's summer. It's hot. We're thirsty. Talk about a perfect time to open up a water boutique, especially in the heart of San Diego's Little Italy where paying over $4 for a bottle of water could be considered cool since it's the "largest bottled water market in the world."

Literally tapping into that market is the Numero Water Boutique, which opened earlier this summer, bringing various kinds of imported fancy-dancy water to town, including their own brand of H2O from Japan's Mount Fuji. According to the San Diego News Network, the unique space branches beyond water with a tea room, rock garden and even ikebana flower-arranging classes.

Alright, alright, so the water boutique won't be vending one of the most basic elements of life for over $4, more like $1.79 for a range of different sorts, all numbered according to properties in the water. For example, "No. 76 is a billed as drinkable spring water with metasilicic acid that is supposed to promote healthy skin while No. 51 is billed as the most replenishing water – especially useful after a workout."

We do have to share that this isn't the first water boutique we've encountered; Rome's Termini Station has had one for ten years! Called "Aqua," it vends everything from the cheapest almost-tap water to the true champagne of waters. It's where we first fell in love with the sensual curves of Ty Nant water bottle, and where we felt really guilty spending any money. It sure reels in the tourists though.
