Locals head there for happy hour, from 3 to 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. to closing Monday to Friday, to devour half-price apps (regularly $8.50-$13) and 'ritas (usually $9-$13). The nachos make a good base layer in your stomach for the massive margaritas with refried beans, cheese, olives, tomatoes, jalapeños, sour cream and guacamole.
Another tasty appetizer is the lobster margarita, a half lobster tail chopped over baby mache with mango-papaya relish and vanilla bean-butter sauce, all served layered in a large 'rita glass (note: seafood apps aren't included in the half-off deal). The entrees are a bit more expensive ($8.50-$13).
You'll find everything from shrimp burritos to enchilada combo dishes, but try the regional specialties such as the pollo huitlacoche, a goat cheese-stuffed roasted chicken breast served with rice, roasted corn calabacitas and huitlacoche sauce.
If you want dessert, you can't go wrong with another one of those potent 'ritas.
