Hallelujah: Jetblue Begins Twittering "Cheep" Fares From $9

Can everyone please give a round of applause to Jetblue, who today entered the Twittersphere anew with their "@JetBlueCheeps" account, tweeting super-low weekend special fares for all.

The first batch of last-minute deals, released this morning at 10:05am EST, include one-way prices of $9 for Boston to New York-JFK, JFK to Nantucket, and Fort Lauderdale to Nassau; $19 for New York-JFK to Chicago and Boston to Washington-Dulles; and $29 for Orlando to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Each deal is limited to between 25-50 seats available, and must be purchased before 6pm EST or it simply sells out.

Airfare for $9 one-way may sound cheap, but keep in mind that it doesn't include taxes and fees (or your return flight). Nonetheless, this isn't Ryanair with crazy fees, and we priced out one of the $9 BOS-JFK trips, which totaled $19.60. If we didn't have baseball tickets already for this weekend, we'd book a quickie trip to Boston at this rate, take one of the many cheap-o bus lines up there and then fly back on Jetblue for under $20.

Oh Twitter, you just gave us another argument for defending you in front of tech-challenged relatives.
