German officials are not amused, which actually surprised us because that's a group notorious for being lighthearted and easygoing. They insist that the new pricing schemes "violate the human dignity" of the sex workers and they're moving to shut down the discount brothels.
Brothel owners are responding with an innovative set of arguments we like to call "biology:"
The operator of the Pussy Club brothels, Patricia Floreiu, defended the new pricing scheme saying: "It simply brings in more customers." She argued that most customers leave after one or two sessions and that none of the women are forced into working under the new terms. The brothel owner continued: "Hardly anyone can 'do it' more than twice. So basically the flat rate is mostly for the free beer."
Good point. And, once you've accepted the existence of state-regulated whores, is it really that much more demeaning for brothels to offer daily rates?
We can't say we're surprised though. If there was going to be one European country where dour bureaucrats came out against multiple sex romps and cheap beer, it was pretty much guaranteed to be Germany.
