This Weekend In the World: HK's Book Fair and Buckingham Opens Up

· Hong Kong
Where can you find tables upon tables of discount books in Chinese, Japanese and English? It's a librarian's dream, and ours as well, and it's this weekend at the Hong Kong book Fair. Last year, some 830,000 avid readers turned out to peruse the stacks of 485 exhibitors, and the numbers just keep growing. Technically the fair lasts from July 22-28 and not just this weekend, but of course attending on a weekend means more activities. Buy cookbooks, self-help books and plain old fiction, but you won't find manga here as, according to Wikipedia, that's now become a separate Comics festival.

· London
The Queen has left the building! Or rather, she will this Sunday, July 26, when she departs for her annual two-month Scottish vacation. While she's away, the tourists may play, and Buckingham Palace's State Rooms and more open for tours. Although this Sunday is the first day, there's no rush as the Palace will be open until the Queen's return on September 30. Tickets are about $27 and can be purchased at the Visitor Entrance or online and are good for re-entry the whole season, aside from some special excluded dates.

· Washington DC
Don't make us tell you again; Washington DC is hosting a "Battle of the Biceps" this weekend, complete with keg-tossing and—our favorite—frozen margarita drinking. All the juicy, testosterone-y details are in our original story.
