Ticket to Funny: Tweetin' Comedians Think They Can Fly This Plane

June 17, 2009 at 1:19 PM | by egw | 0 Comments

Maybe it's the arduous work of spreading the funny from coast to coast, but comedians on Twitter seem to do more than their fair share of observing the indignities of modern travel. Just this morning Paul Feig, creator of "Freaks and Geeks" and executive producer of "The Office," had a fun security experience with someone who apparently hadn't flown since 2005 when the liquid restrictions were put in place. Sure, we might have had the same experience, but we weren't fast enough on our feet to wring out this kind of hyphenated hilarity. (He then took a shuttle and tried to buy painkillers.)

A few more comedians to watch who are no stranger to the road:

@SarahKSilverman - Comedy Central's no-punch-puller recently worried about her pilot on a cross-country flight. We know the feeling!

@rainnwilson - Better known as Dwight Schrute on "The Office," Wilson spends enough time on Twitter to propagate some truly wacky hashtags, but then again, he just took his preschool graduate to Vegas, so clearly he likes to party.

@mshowalter - He calls New York home, but clearly Michael Showalter ("Stella," "The State," "Wet Hot American Summer") needs to get out of the city more if he's running into high school exes on the A train. But major points for taking the subway without almost getting robbed.

@robcorddry - The former "Daily Show" correspondent may pop everywhere from "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay" to to "W," but he sure gets dramatic about a dirty hotel room.

@alyankovic - Whatever, you totally thought "Amish Paradise" was funny too. Let's hope he'll be tweeting from his upcoming vacation in Hawaii with the same detail he uses to record dinners with Slash and Sandra Boynton in the same week.
