There's no bathrooms or elevator either, of course; 354 cramped steps with max 6'2" clearance stand between you and awesome views over New York Harbor. The Park Service warns further:
The climb is strenuous and not without risk, and the National Park Service recommends that crown visitors have no significant physical or mental conditions that would impair their ability to complete it, including, but not limited to: heart and respiratory conditions, mobility impairments, claustrophobia (fear of confined spaces), acrophobia (fear of heights) or vertigo (dizziness).
For those few healthy people remaining, reservations can be made up to a year in advance and will cost an extra $3 on top of the $12 ferry fee to reach the island. Book beginning Saturday online at Statue Cruises or by calling 1-877- LADY-TIX.
