This Weekend in the World: Beer and Tennis Sound Great, Thanks

· Frankfurt: While we may have been talking up Berlin all this week, the weekend belongs to Frankfurt and its Forest Festival, or the Wäldchestag. Running tomorrow through June 2, the outdoor folk fest is a Frankfurt tradition, full of local foods (apple wine!), music and family entertainment. We recommend checking out the crafts market for some of those uniquely hand-carved wooden toys. Find out more information on the fest here.

· Paris: Have you channel-surfed lately and happened across Venus Williams playing tennis on a clay court? Paris is in the midst of the French Open, which brings fans of both tennis and short white skirts into town through June 7. Because of the prestige of this event, expect the upper echelons of Paris hotels and cafes to be catering to the Lacoste-wearing set this week with special prix fixe meals and room deals. To get your own sunburn in the stands, check out the French Open's schedule at their website.
