The layout of the pool at the Sarojin resort in Khao Lak includes a plunge pool and a Jacuzzi, but the real prize is those private cabanas. Get food delivered there from the nearby Ficus Restaurant or just relax on the chaises, which are cleared away some nights so Thai dancers can perform across the platforms which nearly divide the pool.
Built in 2004 and slated to open just before the tsunami that devastated Southeast Asian tourism, the Sarojin finally took in its first guests in late 2005. If you like the poolside scene but don't know how to share, you can always opt to stay at one of the 14 "pool villas" which each come with their own private dip -- perfect for newlyweds, splashin' kids or secret skinny-dippers.
