Your flight has landed, you've claimed your luggage and now you're trying to get the hell out of the airport. To erase confusion and get your on your way, all week long at Jaunted we will be detailing the various ways to get to and from major airports, and what those modes cost, from cheapest to the big blowout entrance. Got any tips or an airport suggestion? Let us know.

· The Underground, aka The Tube: If you're a typical London tourist, you'll be going underground many times during your visit, so why not start early by getting familiar with the system from the airport? Catch the Tube at any terminal, and it'll run you right into town, with usual stops at places like Victoria Station, Kensington, West End, and Paddington Station.
Total cost: £4.00 ($6.19) per person, each way
Total time: 45 minutes

· National Express Coach Bus: Operating direct to Victoria Station. these buses (with onboard bathrooms) depart from the easily found bus station near Terminals 1, 2 and 3.
Total cost: £4.00 ($6.19) per person, each way
Total time: 45 minutes to 1 hour

· Airport Connect/Express Trains: More direct that taking the Underground, but still you've got to board a train and pay up to get into town. There are two different, faster trains at play here: the Connect and the Express. The Connect only leaves from Terminals 1-4, while the Express only leaves from 1, 2, 3 and 5. Needless to say, the Express is fancier, faster and more expensive.
Total cost: £6.90 ($10.68) per person, each way on the Connect; £16.50 ($25.55) on the Express
Total time: 30 minutes on Connect; 15-20 on Express

· Dot 2 Dot Shuttle: The easiest way to do it, if you've got a central London hotel to check into and luggage you'd rather not lug. These shuttles are a shared van service, which will pick you and others up and drop you at the door of your hotel. Just allot that extra time for waiting for the van.
Total cost: £20.00 ($30.96)
Total time: 50-90 minutes (inclusive of 20 minutes van wait time)

· Black London Cab: Throw your luggage in, open the suicide door and hop in for a classic drive into town. These put you face-to-face with a London local right away, and save you from dragging your luggage through a train station. Just be willing to drop some cash since this is definitely not the cheapest of modes.
Total cost: £45-70 ($70-$108) for a maximum of 5 passengers
Total time: 30-80 minutes, depending on your hotel's distance and traffic

· Virgin Limobike: This is like taking the helicopter to JFK; the Virgin Limobikes are Yamaha FJR1300s that zip through traffic and deposit you into London in the trendiest manner available. You'll be outfitted with safety gear, a helmet, and an intercom to talk with your driver or even take phone calls before hitching this motorbike ride. Small to medium-size luggage can even be stowed on the bike's rack. Be aware that they only operate from 7am to 7pm, Monday thru Friday.
Total cost: £75-80 ($116-124) per person, each way
Total time: 30 minutes

· Towncar or Limo: While not as popular an option as the classic black cab, hiring a towncar or limo to enter London does ensure that you will have to touch your luggage a minimum amount and that you'll look the part when arriving to your five-star hotel.
Total cost: £70-200 ($108-310)
Total time: 30-80 minutes, depending on your hotel's distance and how long it takes for your limo to turn corners

Tube stations at all terminals now!!

There are now underground stations at terminals 4 and 5 so no need to use the connecting overground services to reach the tube.

re: Tube stations

Corrected. Thank you for the update! I need to get back there asap.
