In fact, the policy hadn't even been in effect for 24 hours when we personally had a run-in with its flaws. While arranging a flight for a friend with an obscenely lengthy name, we were forced by the booking website to cut off one letter so that the name would fit on the boarding pass.
So will "Christophe" make it through security for his flight in a week? What about Britain's Prince Harry, who has a polo match in New York this month, but bears the full name of Prince Henry Charles Albert David Windsor? We'd like to see the length of that boarding pass.
