Fox's New Reality Show Can't Wait To Fire You

April 9, 2009 at 1:32 PM | by egw | 1 Comment

Dastardly opportunists. The Fox Network announced this week it would be scouting ailing businesses for its next reality show, "Someone's Gotta Go," a layoff-themed TV competition. Employees will go over the books and decide who deserves to lose his or her job, which may be more fair than having one boss decide, but talk about setting up a negative work atmosphere! At least the cameras will make it obvious that they're all being watched and found wanting. We suggest the unluckiest employee get out of town on one of these reality-themed trips:

"Survivor": Not overly enthused about roughing it in the Tocantins with Coach and Taj? Try five nights in Rio with a gastronomic side trip to the village of Itaipava in "Gourmet Valley." No beans and rice down here, try French food at Capim Limão or locavore it out at the Parador Santarem Marina.

"The Amazing Race": If you enjoyed the elephant massages and rickshaw views on last week's episode, you might want to check out Virgin Vacations' $1069 package to Thailand now through the end of May. Just get a good cabdriver when you're there!

"The Real World": According to the New York Post, the next season of "The Real World" may take place in Washington D.C.. The nation's capital has never hosted people who stopped getting polite and started being real before, but before they get a chance to tear up the place, see the nation's capital in cherry blossom season for under $200, even from California.

    this makes me miss

the good old days of 2000 when Fox had shows like "Who wants to marry a millionaire" and "joe millionaire."
