Virgin America Promises Fleetwide WiFi By June

We’re still tingling from American Airlines' recent announcement regarding their expansion of in-flight WiFi, and now we have another big one. Virgin America is looking to have every single plane they fly WiFi enabled by June. All flights from Boston and Orange County are already beaming magical internet waves through the cabin, but we really can’t wait to have it from all of their destinations.

Just to recap, Virgin uses Gogo to enable their planes with wireless capabilities, and if WiFi is a must on your next trip, you’ll be able to ensure a plane with wireless when you book your flight. As long as they don’t switch planes on you, your laptop will be enjoying a multimedia extravaganza at 35,000 feet. Of course, you'll need to be willing to throw down about $10 for access, depending on the length of your flight.

In other news, the airline is teaming up with the band Filter to get you and a buddy out to the Coachella festival, where you can test out the new iPhone App in person. If you win, just remember to pack lightly, they're now charging you $15 for your first checked bag. However, you should be ok for the festival, as the fees don't start 'til May.
