What do Amy Winehouse and JetBlue Have in Common?

St. Lucia!

It's been quite a while since we've heard anything about Amy Winehouse's travels, when actually we could say the same for Amy Winehouse herself. The drug-addled crooner may still be persona non grata in the United States, but next week will find her on the fringes while performing at the St. Lucia Jazz Festival.

Due on stage next Friday alongside, of all people, KC and the Sunshine Band, La Winehouse will no doubt be the lowlight of the festival as tickets for her are only $50. This is compared to the $70 premium shows the following nights featuring Chaka Khan, Patti LaBelle, Bebe Winans and Estelle.

The St. Lucia Jazz Festival is expected to draw a record crowd, which usually gums up both auto and foot traffic on Pigeon Island, where the main stage is and where all the tourists will eventually converge to bet for Amy's sinking or swimming.

Perhaps Amy is just testing the waters for a return to playing gigs in the States, and by fall she'll have a quick way to make the Caribbean hop from St. Lucia up to the States when Jetblue begins a new route connecting the two. Not will St. Lucia be Jetblue's 13th international destination, but it will also be a piggybacking on the hype of the other new Jetblue tropical routes to Montego Bay, Jamaica and Barbados.

Uh oh! All of these new direct flights could possibly give La Winehouse an easy escape route to the Big Apple from other Caribbean jazz fests; passport control better be on their toes for her beehive.
