Joe Jonas Just Wants to Relax, What About You?

At least screaming fans will have to work a little bit: Disney-owned Joe Jonas told a writer for Seventeen magazine that, despite the fact that he's been everywhere with his brother act the Jonas Brothers, he would like nothing better than to take time off of the group to backpack around the world.

Joe, perhaps living out the archetype of the middle child, has a #1 movie and a Disney Channel sitcom about to premiere, but apparently he's ready to chuck it all to stay in hostel after hostel with his best buddy, preferably one not related to him.

There are trips you take because you want to see the world, and there are trips you take because you have to get away from it all. We could just call the latter "vacations," but that doesn't seem specific enough; we're talking about the trip where you turn your phone off and zone out in your own particular way for a time.

A new book by journalist Karen Schaler, Travel Therapy: Where Do You Need To Go?, even purports to tell you what is the right destination for your heartache or to exhaust your inner child. As a former TV reporter who was embedded with troops in both Bosnia and Afghanistan, we bet Schaler knows how to get away, and her website Travel Therapy Trips pushes readers to see their jaunts as part of your psychological health. And we say heck yes to that!

Unless his handlers are hiding money from him Gary Coleman-style, the JoBro can afford to buy their own remote beach house when they need a break from their fast-paced lives. The rest of us aren't so lucky, but we can still seek out the kind of destination that makes us say ahhhh.

So what do you look for in a relaxing trip? And is there one place or one kind of trip you return to over and over for some Vitamin R&R? Let us know in comments below!

exaggeration?

wow...in the article he said he loves to travel, and one day if he has a break, he would like to backpack around. this is a VERY exaggerated version of the article.

Bad Traveler

I am a bad traveler. However, my bucky pillow and shades make life a little easier to bare.
