What's Happening This Weekend in World Capitals

April 3, 2009 at 2:41 PM | by JetSetCD | 1 Comment

· New York City and almost everywhere else: Set your jammies aside and warm up your biceps for some serious public pillow whomping as the world celebrates International Pillow Fight Day on Saturday. We already let you in on the fact that New York City will host their massive stress-relieving event at 3pm on Wall Street, but be sure to check out the official site for details on how to get in on the fun in your city, whether that be Cardiff or Seattle.

· Paris: For those of you lucky enough to be spending the first hints of spring in the City of Lights, you also happen to be in town during the Banlieues Bleues, an annual five-week music festival celebrating French jazz, blues, R&B and other world music. Continuing only through April 11, the smooth sounds necessitate something of a lengthened weekend in order to enjoy many musty nights in cool cat clubs. Check out the full schedule here.

· London: It's ok if you've got some tasseled pasties hiding in your underwear drawer, for this weekend is the perfect time for airing them out and attending the annual Burlesque Fest, which sadly concludes tomorrow. In keeping with a good striptease, the best will be saved for last with a "secrets in lace" fashion show, seated VIP dinner, and performances from such names as Dangerous Dolly, Flame Cynders, Marianne Cheesecake, and Miss Slinky Sparkles. Find the full (and naughty) schedule here.
