The Gossip Girl Tour Bus Should Just Stick to Season One Hangouts

April 21, 2009 at 12:31 PM | by egw | 0 Comments

We know that the upcoming Gossip Girl Tour is limited for several reasons (specifically: 5) but as Season 2 continues with its frantic storylines, we advise On Location Tours to just stick to the good-ole hangouts of Season 1.

Previously: 800 years ago, Chuck tried to hook up with Jenny; Blair found herself scant on college options; Serena ran off to Spain with Poppy and Blair reunited with Nate.

We'll just cut to the chase and point out that this episode ends with an orgy of apologies. Given what happened to Bart Bass, we can only assume everyone on the show is now going to die, to which we say: Don't you dare, Show. That is not a good way to write around the fact that many of your main characters are about to graduate from high school.

Onto the drama.

Eleanor and Cyrus are hosting a Seder, and almost everyone ends up there! Except Blair, who's off being WASPy (more of which, later). Lily drags Rufus there to cultivate some clients for his art so Dan can go to Yale, where they run into Dan who signed up to work the event without knowing it would be at the apartment of someone he knows. (Eleanor Waldorf uses Craigslist?)

Serena wasn't invited, but she stopped by to get legal advice because she may have accidentally married Poppy's boyfriend Gabriel under the influence of Rioja. Turns out she wasn't, and Gabriel just wants to date her... or does he? But during dinner Serena decides pretending she's back with Dan and he's not a waiter will just make the problem go away, leading to Lily's best one-liner ever: "Oh no, you two haven't..."

Meanwhile, Blair has a wee bit of anxiety about not getting into Yale (as shown by her "My Fair Lady"-style nightmare -- this time, she's the Cockney flower-seller and the polished Higginsite!) So she's a little susceptible when, at a rehearsal for Nate's cousin's wedding, Nate's grandpa suggests she talk him into Yale (instead of Columbia) for the low, low price of a junior committee spot at the Whitney and a bridesmaid's outfit.

Then Nate and Grandpa have a falling out because the latter supposedly reported the former's dad to the SEC, only he waited till he warned him, which makes it okay somehow. Nate finds out Blair was going to sell him out, but in the end, they apologize (thanks to some wise words from Chuck) and are happy again.

Plus, thanks to Cyrus' 'Nam friend, Blair is going to have an interview at NYU, ensuring that she and Nate will spend their first six months of college arguing about whether to go out uptown or downtown.

And in an adorable subplot, Jenny brings her crush back to the Van der Woodsens' for Monopoly, only to be distracted by Chuck and his latest ballerina. But when Chuck realizes he's already slept with her, he... feels bad about himself? Huh? And he apologizes to Jenny for an incident we had all forgotten about, that moment in the pilot where he made an attempt on Jenny's chastity. What we don't find out is whether Monopoly's a way into a man's heart. Please comment, we need to know by tonight so we can put the Candyland away.
