Pet Airways To Start Flying Furry Friends On July 14

We were a little skeptical when we heard about Pet Airways a couple weeks ago. Of course we love kitties and puppies, but it just seemed too good to be true—especially since it’s not really the ideal time to launch a new airline. However, after an update on their Facebook page Friday afternoon, the new airline let everyone know that “pawsengers” can start flying on July 14.

Over the weekend, Pet Airways revealed the schedule and cost for flying your furry friends. Tickets are $149 each way for all of their routes, including New York to Los Angeles, but we’re not sure about any taxes or additional charges that may be tacked on. For now, you’ll have to email them to book a trip, since their reservation system has been overwhelmed—their words not ours.

To start things off, the airline will fly once a week in each direction. On Tuesdays they’ll fly east to west stopping in Baltimore, Chicago, and Denver along the way. On Thursdays they’ll turn it around and fly west to east stopping in the same cities. Although we’re worried about the smell, we wish them the best of luck.
