This Weekend in the World: Markets and Museums, Oh My!

· New York City: Can it be true? Is New York finally going to enjoy some 70-degree weather this weekend? Since this spring will find more urbanites with less cash for indulging their al fresco fantasies, we turn to the opening weekend of the outdoor Brooklyn Flea Market in Fort Greene, Brooklyn on Saturday. From 10am to 5pm on the grounds of Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School, 200 or so vendors will pitch their tents and hock everything from vintage vinyl and handmade baubles to churros and organic everything. Read all about this weekend's deals and the fun for the rest of the summer at the Brooklyn Flea's website.

· Madrid: Now let's go even deeper into market territory with Madrid's 19th annual Almoneda Antiques, Art Galleries and Collectors Fair. Running through April 26, this humongo gathering of stuff over fifty years old and the people who love it begins this weekend, meaning hightail it there while the getting is good. Entrance is 8 Euro per person, but Tuesday is free entrance to everyone who can manage to skip work for it. Find out all the details here.

· Paris: We're hip; we enjoy street art as part of the everyday experience of living in a metropolis, but it's always something special to see the pieces framed and explained within the stark environs of a museum exhibit. Enter "Le Tag," showing at the Grand Palais through April 26. Check out displays of over 300 works from 150 international artists "united by the theme of “love” — and the only artform based around the spray can." Check out the NY Times for a review of the show as well as more information.

· Tokyo: If your idea of a day at the museum tends to involve things a bit more refined that graffiti, then we suggest hitting up Japan and their "'Story Of...' Memories of Cartier Creations" exhibition at the Tokyo National Museum. Oh yes, this means lots of vintage bling with more provenance and more accumulated worth than is possible to imagine. More specifically, Cartier has dusted off 276 pieces from the 1370 objects in their archives. Entrance for adults is $14, and the exhibit runs through May 31, but we're in the mood to look at things we can't afford now. Find more information on it here.
