Where to Eat:
Ben’s Chili Bowl, 1213 U St. NW, was recently named one of our “Top Five Cheap Eats Spots for Inauguration”. But that's not all it has going for it. Ben's is a Washington institution, and more importantly, can be seen in "State of Play". Try their Bill Cosby’s Original Chili Half-Smoke, a 1/4lb. half pork and beef smoked sausage on a warm steamed bun and topped with mustard, onions and Ben’s spicy homemade chili sauce for $5.20, unless you’re Bill Cosby or Barack Obama, then you can have whatever you want for free.
What to See:
Since 1971, The Kennedy Center has strived to fulfill JFK’s vision to “present the greatest performers and performances from across America and around the world, nurture new works and young artists, and serve the nation as a leader in arts education". It also happens to be featured in "State Of Play". The Kennedy Center is the nation’s busiest performing arts center, hosting nearly 2000 events a year, so no matter when you visit D.C. you will be able to catch the National Symphony Orchestra, a ballet performance or a touring Broadway show. A calendar of upcoming shows and tickets are available at Kennedy-Center.org.
