Sponsored by LA-based Drink Eat Play, the festival runs from 2pm to 5pm Saturday and Sunday on Washington Boulevard in Culver City. Tickets are $40 per day. Pay attention now because this next part's important: tickets are limited and will not be sold at the door. They must be purchased in advance. See the website for more detailed info, including the links to buy them.
It looks like they will have about 60 different beer companies represented, with a decent mix of domestics and imports. Some of the names you'll recognize and some will be new. But the important thing is that they're all alcoholic. There will of course be sundry BBQ, smoked meats, and - since it's the West Side - grilled vegetables. At least we think there'll be grilled vegetables. No guarantees.
For the hipsters there's PBR. For the kids there's a Facebook page. For for our Jewish readers there's a last-minute chance to drink decent beverages before before having to switch to Manischewitz for a week. And for the rest of us: oceans of beer.
Entertainment will be provided by a Tom Petty/Johnny Cash cover band on Saturday and a U2 cover band on Sunday. It's almost like being in the Midwest. Except with a lot more Priuses and Obama bumper stickers in the parking lot.
