Apparently, city folk love them the freedom of car sharing along with free booze, as the bar was so packed that mirrors were fogging and the Zipcar reps had a healthy line of eager drink-and-drivers. Don't worry; there were no actual Zipcars on hand for the over-zealous newbies to get their hands on, but no doubt this event will help advance the cult of car sharing and open people up to quick destinations other than the Hamptons and Atlantic City.
Keep your ears open for more monthly events like this one in New York City, but we'd imagine that cities like San Francisco and Chicago will hop on the open bar bandwagon soon if they haven't already. 'Tis the season to start making road trip plans, after all.
