Everyone's favorite trainwreck on a comeback opened her world tour last night near her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana. It may not be the kind of "Circus" that you can take a kid to to see jugglers and elephants, although Britney Spears threw in some clowns with nunchucks and acrobats in case anyone in the audience was looking for that.

Should you brave the slings and arrows of the World of Spears? We haven't been yet, but the reviews are filled with faint praise and pats on the back for Brit to have emerged after her five-year hiatus from touring.

Perez Hilton, who appears in the show as Queen Elizabeth (really), said the show was "much better than we had expected!" but faulted whoever made Britney lipsynch through the entire show. MTV News had a lot of fun but wished there had been more Britney to go around; People blamed the singer for not engaging the audience more and said she seemed relieved when it was all over. And the U.K. Sun newspaper called it "X-rated" from the bondage-inspired costumes to the decidedly underchoreographed sequences with Spears' dancers.

You only have 44 more opportunities to see Spears in the U.S., Canada and the U.K., after which the ailing music industry will probably fold in on itself. Hurry, hurry! Come one and all!

I saw her in New Orleans last night! She had a great performance. Minimal singing but great dancing, costumes, and staging! Nice work brit.
