There are also several new films debuting at ShoWest, like Robert Downey Jr.'s latest drama "The Soloist" and Woody Allen's comedy "Whatever Works." Another RDJ movie getting a lot of buzz at this year’s convention is "Sherlock Holmes." The movie isn’t in theaters until Christmas but the first posters started are popping up around ShoWest yesterday, causing quite a stir over its dark feel.
If you can't get into any film premieres, you might want to try stalking some of the bars in Paris and Bally's. DreamWorks folk were doing a cocktail hour last night at Napolean's in Paris and there are many more going on throughout town.
In addition to showing off the latest movies and gadgets, ShoWest honors a new crop of Hollywood’s most influential talent each year. Among this year's honorees are Chris Pine, Male Star of the Year, Sienna Miller, Supporting Actress of the Year, Bradley Cooper, Comedy Star of the Year, Zac Efron, Breakthrough Performer of the Year, and Michael Caine, who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.
All of the winners will be celebrated at ShoWest’s Final Night Banquet and Award Ceremony on Thursday, April 2, at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas.
