Last week American Airlines was the first to offer this deal, and then United quickly followed. Both of these airlines require you to register for the promotion, and offer the double-dip on flights booked after registering and flying. Continental was the third to get into the game—but their deal is valid for travel that you already have booked. So if you got a good deal to Asia a couple weeks ago, just sign up, and you’ll be enjoying quite the bonus. We wouldn’t be surprised to see something from Delta or US Airways any day now. Just finish your travel before June 15, and you'll be one-step closer.
For the casual flier this might just be thing that helps you reach status, but for the business traveler you might want to pick one of the promotions and go to town. No matter the airline’s fancy name for it, the frequent flier status usually lasts for at least a year—so get booking. Status usually starts at 25,000 miles, with better perks as you get higher in the ranks.
Let us know if this will change your travel plans at all. Will you focus more on one airline, or will price and schedule still be the biggest influence? If you score a crazy mileage run, let us know about that too—so we can also book it!
