Seattle Gets A Little Naughty During The Moisture Festival

March 19, 2009 at 10:56 AM | by kjb | 0 Comments

The citizens of Seattle only have a couple more months of clouds and rain left, and to celebrate they’ve devoted an entire festival to moisture. Well, not really, but that is the name of the festival—and it is rainy in Seattle—we’re just trying to keep it clean while discussing a festival that gets a little frisky after dark.

Celebrating its sixth year the Moisture Festival runs from March 11 through April 5, all while putting on quite the show. Organizers call their entertainment offerings Comedy/Varietč, which to us means a little bit of everything.

There’s acrobatics, comedians, can can girls, musical numbers, and even bubbles—all while actors do their best to capture and maintain the spirit of Vaudeville. Acts are performed fast and furious—with each lasting between three and fifteen minutes—so you're never bored and always left guessing what’s up next.

For those that want a little more action in their theatre, the festival has been presenting a Burlesque show since 2005, after the city goes to sleep. The festival claims to attract stars of the sexy and sensual—we don’t know any off the top of our head—but apparently they hold numerous honors from the Miss Exotic World Pageant. These nightly displays starring Fuchsia FoXXX and Belle Cozette among others, can be found at the ACT Halls Theatre and the SIFF Cinema—ages 21 and older only please.

One of the festival’s founding guidelines was to keep things affordable so that it was accessible for all. With a ticket price range from $5 to $25 there’s fun to be had no matter how hard the economy is a hurtin’. We think this is a must see if you’ll be in the area—when else would you have the chance to see something like this?
