Happy St. Patrick's Day! That is, if you can still manage to read the computer screen straight. Although sadly most of us will have to work a full day before setting out on an equally fully night, St. Patrick's Day at least guarantees a riotous (sometimes literally) good time will be had by all.

This goes not only for Chicago with its green river, New York with its sober parade, or Dublin where it's almost like any other day, but the Irish spirit can even be found healthy and happy in Shanghai, China.

Although this is one celebration that carries through the expat communities, it can also be just another great excuse for the salarymen to stumble home late. To prove the existence of such parties today and yes, even green beer, Shanghaiist has compiled a handy guide to getting your drink on, on the other side of the world.

Looking at the listing, which includes standard treats such as free drinks if you can prove you're Irish and specials on Guinness and Jameson, we're drawn to the green beer price of 40 RMB, which comes to about $5.80, and the offer of two carbombs for $7.30. It's just too bad with the time difference, as Shanghai is totally enjoying that cheap beer right now and it's far too late to hop a flight and mix it up this St. Patrick's Day.

Great--now we'll have Cher's "If I Could Turn Back Time" in our head all day long.
