The GenArt Film Festival is Coming To NYC

March 17, 2009 at 1:55 PM | by cmb | 0 Comments

The Gen Art Film Festival (GAFF) provides access to film fanatics and celeb stalkers who want to experience a movie premiere like an insider. All event tickets include admission to a premiere and after-party with the cast and filmmakers. The festival runs for seven nights from April 1st-7th, each evening one feature film and one short film will be screened. The premieres will take place at the state-of-the-art Visual Arts Theater on West 23rd Street between 8-9th Avenues in New York City.

Where to Stay:
The Wyndham Garden Hotel Chelsea West recently opened, just blocks from GenArt and the Visual Arts Center, at W. 24th St and Broadway. The hotel has all of the Wyndham’s usual amenities like Herman Miller ergonomic chairs, signature Wyndham Be Well bedding, 32 inch flat screen TVs, and Bath and Body Works True Blue Spa bath care amenities. With a new "Friends & Family" deal, rooms can go as low as $100 a night.

Where to Eat:
Also located just around the corner from GenArt is Hill Country BBQ. We’ve already certified the restaurant’s Texas-style pork ribs, brisket and sides as the real deal. Not only do they have an impressive menu, they have an impressive line-up of live music. This month’s headliners include The Ramblers and The Nashville Attitude.

What to See:
The premiere of "Lymelife", executive produced by Martin Scorsese and starring Cynthia Nixon and Alec Baldwin, is sure to be the highlight of the festival. The premiere will begin with a red carpet arrival and be followed by a star-studded after-party. Tickets to the screening are $30 for GenArt members and $40 for non-members.
